China - Reinforced Regulations by China Customs Authorities
With immediate effect, China Customs has removed the low value shipment threshold value of RMB 400 and implemented strict controls on the export and import of advertising materials and samples with no commercial value. Increased physical customs inspections and service delays may be expected.
Additional information on this-
- Except for documents and personal effects, all other shipments require an Importer/ Exporter Customs Registration Code (a 10-digit customs code) to be provided by the importer or exporter for customs declaration.(In the absence of a Customs registered code, please engage a registered agent authorized to act as the importer or exporter for your shipments.)
- The reinforced regulation takes effect on all shipments with the H.S. code, and the appropriate customs duty, VAT and tax may be charged. This includes samples and advertising articles valued at RMB 400 and below, which were previously duty-exempted, but are now taxable. (For shippers in China, please refer to HERE for H.S. code of your items for shipping.)
- This may result in a longer clearance time for shipments, and may cause delays to your shipments.* For more information, please visit: HERE or contact your local Account Executive or Customer Service Representatives for more information.
